I'm going to talk about the harry potter bookso don't read it if you don't want a spoiler

Well, finished The Half-Blood Prince last night. I really like Harry Potter again. His character was really good in this book and I agree with most of the critics that say she (Rowling) has aged him well. What Tati and I really liked and discussed yestday was the good development of the villains' characters, such as Draco Malfoy and Snape, for instance.

I said to Tati (and she surprisingly wasn't very agreeable to it) how much like Naruto the Harry Potter series are. I thought it was obvious. I was triggered into thinking about it when one of her friends compared (SPOILER ALERT!) Dumbledore's funeral to that of the third Hokage. Plus, both the third Hokage and Dumbledore are succeeded by a hard-ass woman (Tsunade and McGonagall, respectively, both extremely accomplished in their field). Then I thought about how Harry goes to wizarding school and Naruto attends a magical ninja school. Dumbledore takes Harry on special missions, excluding the other students. Naruto got to accompany Jiraiya to find Tsunade. Both Naruto and Harry are marked for greatness and supposed to possess incredible power, but are really not all that talented. The ninja school has teams, Hogwarts has houses. Certain powers are taught only to age-appropriate students in both worlds. Both Harry and Naruto grew from brooding, little boys to annoying, self-righteous adolescents, to admirable and considerably more powerful and brave young men. I think Naruto will be the 6th hokage. If Harry doesn't become headmaster one day,I guarantee Minister of Magic, or some sort of leadership position; Rowling loves her hero that much.

Okay, that's enough of that, I suppose.
